| The core of CBST's religious life is our main Kabbalat Shabbat service every Friday night at 296 9th Avenue and 28th Street. The Kabbalat Shabbat service is held Fridays at 7:00 pm at our Chelsea location. Leadership is shared among congregants, Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum and Rabbi Ayelet Cohen, and our Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Interns. Joyce Rosenzweig, our music director and pianist, and the CBST Community Chorus participate in the service on a regular basis. Led using CBST's own prayer book, this warm service incorporates Hebrew prayers, English readings, and both traditional and modern songs. A drash is given every week. The kiddush that follows each service provides an opportunity to meet new people and connect with old friends. |
